LOOK at our "SWEET POTATOES!"
Our PPES Cafeteria recently held a contest to see which classrooms could decorate the most creative sweet potatoes. The classrooms came up with some very unusual and interesting potatoes!
Our PE Department recently held its Jump Rope for Heart program. PPES students raised $10,000 for the American Heart Association. The money that was raised goes towards research to help save the lives of children with heart problems. To celebrate, students who collected donations participated in a Dodge Brawl on Friday, February 28th. Our winners of the Dodge Brawl were Riley Jackson (3rd-6th grade) and Ali Tyson (Kindergarten-2nd grade). Dylan Kiser, Kindergarten, received a medal for collecting the most donations, $316.00, for Jump Rope for Heart.

Peachland-Polkton Elementary School recently celebrated “Good Character in our Hearts!” This week-long event, sponsored by the Character Council, allowed classes to be partnered with each other and participate in acts of kindness during the week of Valentine’s, (some activities were held later due to the snow days). Classes created a classroom mailbox outside of their classroom and exchanged Valentine’s cards and candy with each other, held a craft day and participated in a “Partner Reading” day. PPES Principal, Mr. Travis Steagall, exhibiting GREAT CHARACTER!
On Tuesday, January 28th, students at PPES were on an early release schedule due to impending inclement weather. Because of this, our cafeteria staff had to quickly move from serving breakfast to serving lunch to all students before the early release. Our Principal saw the need to get in and help out by serving our students with the cafeteria staff. What a great example of Good Character!
Thank you, Mr. Steagall, for being such a wonderful Leader at PPES!
